In their own words:
Inspired by the likes of Girl Talk, E-603, and other top mash-up artists of today, comes the relatively new group, Torpeedoh from Des Moines, Iowa.
DJ, creator, mixer, and producer, Zach Torpy is the driving force behind Torpeedoh. Torpy is a talented young artist who routinely puts in hours a day working on his projects using the music editing program, Ableton Live. Chris Dahl is the flavor and creativity behind Torpeedoh. Head of visuals, promotion, and starting the party, Chris knows how to make the crowd have a good time.
Buckwild is the second EP from Torpeedoh, preceded by Play the Game Beginning in March, Torpeedoh began laying the foundation for their soon-to-be hit album. Buckwild contains some 75 different unique artists that have been sampled and mixed into a creative and refreshing party and dance mix. The rhythm and natural flow of each sample blends in perfectly with the backing beats, allowing for the constant ability to shake your ass. Torpeedoh focused on allowing each sample to last long enough to ensure that people can dance to their favorite song without it being transitioned into something new too fast.
Torpeedoh plans on playing live at many events this summer in the Des Moines area to increase awareness and interest in the music.
So whether you’re partying it up on the dance floor, or just kicking it on a Sunday drive, Buckwild is the album to be listening to in the summer of ’09. Check out www.torpeedoh.com for more information on the group including: album artwork, purchasing a limited edition copy, a list of artists sampled, and much more. The album is also available as a "Pay What You Want" type of release for anyone that wants to donate.
