2013-02-01 mikedreams notes… February is Fab @ ZOMB!

Fine print: Tracks 1 – 8, on this oh so HQ boot, are from an unknown place and time. Aside from being from 1993. The CD was released as well in ’93.

I contacted ZOMB management and was advised if I could state it is definitely unreleased material, I could still upload it.

Note: The band released only one live recording, a mini-set entitled “Live In Stockholm” (1994-05-17, @ Gino, Stockholm SE). The CD was made by Breeders Digest, the band’s official fanclub.

I have that CD. Of the 8 songs on it, only one track has the same title as one from the mystery tracks off “Double Trouble,” tracks 1 – 8: “Saints.” I have tested them and they clearly are different versions.

So I can categorically say tracks 1 – 8 of the booted I present to you are unreleased, unofficial tracks.

Because of the unknown date and time this part of the CD is not allowed on DIME. Oh, many have tried only to be denied.

So this is not for you my friends at DIME, just for you, my comrades at ZOMB. As Neil sang, “Don’t Be Denied.”

This upload is dedicated to ZOMB and deadmarsh, with whom I spoke to about this bootleg.

It is dedicated to ZOMB not only in thanks for the site’s 10th Anniversary today, but in thanks to the site and especially uploader libero, for sharing so much Nirvana with me.

Per wiki, The Breeders debut album Pod, “was famously quoted by [Nirvana’s] Kurt Cobain as one of his favorite records ever: ‘The main reason I like [The Breeders] is for their songs, for the way they structure them, which is totally unique, very atmospheric. I wish Kim was allowed to write more songs for the Pixies, because “Gigantic” is the best Pixies song, and Kim wrote it.'”

The Breeders opened for Nirvana on their 1992 European tour.

I’m with Kurt. Much more than that though. The Pixies meant and mean nothing to me. It’s all Kim and the early 90’s version of The Breeders.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of The Breeders alterna-cult classic, “The Last Splash.” The Last Splash edition of the band, the same members as appear here on this here bootleg, will be reuniting and touring this year to celebrate.

“The Breeders – New Year XX Published on Dec 31, 2012

New Year: Recorded in Kim’s basement. iPhone footage by Kyle. Edited by Josephine.

Happy LSXX.”

I love The Breeders. The Everly Sisters of Modern Rock. I love their harmonies. I love their humor. Their existential sense of humor. Their black guitar.

Along with Elastica, The Breeders are about the most fun band ever.

I was so crushed when Tanya left to feed her tree. I was ultra-bulldozed when Kelley left to feed her habit.

Shit happenstance, so let’s keep on dancing.

Happy LSXX and Happy ZX!

To save the rock all night long along with her sister Dawn, Buffy Summers is ready when you are.

“Crank it!”
